I am a storyteller, a collector and a fantasist. My process of art-making is in visually illustrating moments that evoke emotional sensations. These works sing the ballads of my sorrows, tell tales of powerful bonds, reveal secret fears and secure a space for personal triumphs to be realized. My everyday ordinary and incidental extraordinary are set and solidified. These are not imagined landscapes, they are the articulation of the human condition.
It is through the process of combining photography, scanning, drawing and text that I transform the surface of the final work. A capture, props, digital manipulation and mixed media all play a part in my little theaters. It is in experiences that I derive a concept and suddenly the characters, colors and visual narratives arrive in my mind. The subjects come from real life moments which organically materialize and fall into their place in the scene. My stories pull or gently nudge at the viewer’s vulnerabilities. No matter the medium or method, the final intention is to awaken.
